Hello and welcome to my first tagged Book Tag on Turn Another Page!
I love book tags and I find it nice and exciting that I’ve been tagged in my first one since launching this blog. I feel hugely grateful to Riddhi @WhisperingStories for the tag and tagging me in the Fall Time: Cozy Time Book Tag because Autumn/Fall is my favourite season! And Books + Autumn feels like a match in heaven.
Before I ramble too much let’s dive right in.
Crunching leaves: The world is full of colour!
Choose a book with red/orange/yellow on the cover
I’m going orange and yellow and picking The Priory of The Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon. It’s simply glorious!
Cozy sweater: It’s finally cool enough for warm cozy clothing!
What book gives you the warm fuzzies?
I’ll take this to mean a comfort book and one of mine is Hunted by Meagan Spooner, which is actually quite ironic considering it’s set it in and around a rather cold and snowy forest.
Fall Storm: The wind is howling and the rain is pounding.
Choose a book that you like to read on a stormy day.
Again this would be another comfort read, maybe a Historical Fiction or Fantasy book. On that basis I’ll say The Familiars by Stacey Halls. I loved this book and a stormy day would be the perfect time to reread it.
Cool crisp air: makes you breathe freely.
Who’s the coolest character you’d want to trade places with?
Cripes, I have no idea. Saying that I think it would be rather cool and interesting to trade places with Kleio, the Muse of History in The Chronicles of St Mary’s series by Jodi Taylor, although I would not be able to keep a lid on the insanity that goes on at St Mary’s Priory for Historical Research.
Hot Apple Cider: warm Autumn drink.
What under-hyped book do you want to see become the next biggest, hottest thing?
I honestly don’t know. I haven’t kept up with every new release this year so I don’t think I can put my finger on an under-hyped book.
Coat, scarves, and mittens: the weather has turned cold and it’s time to cover up.
What’s a book cover you don’t like?
I’m going to come out with a rather unpopular opinion and say I really do not like the new neon covers for Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy by Laini Taylor. I can see why a lot of people are attracted to them but they are not to my taste at all.
Pumpkin spice: time for some Starbucks. What’s your favourite fall comfort food?
I love all the comfort food at this time of year, but one of my favourite things that my family and I have eaten quite a bit over the last couple of weeks is all the roasted vegetables – carrots, parsnips, butternut squash, turnips, swede, potatoes – mixed with fresh herbs. To me it screams autumn and the run up to December and Christmas.
Warm cozy bonfire: spread the cozy warmth.
Who do you tag?
Having only recently decided to come back to blogging on a regular basis, I don’t know who has or hasn’t done this tag so I will do my usual and say:
What are your favourite books to read in the fall/autumn?
Thanks for reading and have a brazzle dazzle day!
