Wow, I’m writing up a book haul!
I haven’t done one for a while, not a monthly one in any case, so it is nice to have one to write up again!
October has been a full-on, overwhelming month. When I get overwhelmed I tend to bring myself back down to earth by buying books, Switch games, and/or anything else that is relatively calming. It works a treat, so much so, I acquired more books than I wanted to. But these things happen and I won’t complain about it.
Some of the books I’ve got are pre-orders, some came in a book box, and others are ones I’ve bought directly from a bookshop.

Pre-orders
A Single Thread of Moonlight by Laura Wood: YA | Historical Fiction | Romance | Retelling
The Haunting Season by authors including Kiran Millwood Hargrave, Imogen Hermes Gowar, and Natasha Pulley: Adult | Short Stories | Fiction
Midnight in Everwood by M.A.Kuzniar: Adult | Fantasy | Fairytale Retelling
A Box of Stories Halloween Box
A Box of Stories is a new book subscription box I discovered this year and I absolutely love everything about it. I gushed and talked about it some more in my first ever unboxing, but just to quickly summarise for any one new to it, it curates four surprise books from a particular genre that are under hyped and at risk of being destroyed.
My new box was a special, limited edition Halloween box they curated and I’m very intrigued by the four books I received. They’re all very much outside of my comfort zone and not what I’d usually buy for myself but that’s the good thing about the box. They encourage you to try new books in the hope you find that hidden gem!
Cut by Marc Raabe: Adult | Crime | Thriller
The Silver Road by Stina Jackson, translated by Susan Beard: Adult | Translated fiction | Crime | Thriller | Mystery
The Doll Funeral by Kate Hamer: Adult | Fiction | Contemporary Fiction
The Wayward Girls by Amanda Mason: Adult | Fiction | Thriller | Ghost Stories
My Waterstones Books:
For the Wolf by Hannah Whitten : Adult | Fantasy | Fantasy | Retelling
The Monsters of Rookhaven by Pádraig Kenny, Illustrated by Edward Bettison: MG/YA | Fantasy | Horror – it is also my current, finished read and I LOVED it! It was incredibly atmospheric with such a good balance of creepy, mystery, heart, found family and friendship.

And there we have it!
So many interesting and good books to read…..or leave on my shelf for a couple years until finally reading them!

Have you bought any books recently? If so, share and recommend all the books!
As always, thanks for reading and have a brazzle dazzle day!
xx

Great haul! I hope you enjoy reading them. I also picked up Midnight in Everwood as a pre-order, though I’m saving it to read next month.

I have it currently have it on my bedside table, waiting for me, but it will probably be next month when I pick it up too.

It just seems too perfect to read in December for me to pick it up before then! 🙂

That’s exciting! I’m hardly reading at the moment so it’s probably going to be a while until I actually pick it up.
