Hello!
Did anyone else have big reading plans for 2021, have any personal challenges besides a Goodreads or Storygraph reading goal? I certainly did and the majority of them were based around tackling my backlist and cutting down on my number of unread books. However, I didn’t quite manage it so the books I had every intention of reading are still unread. Oops.
Anyway, I thought I’d take this opportunity to share with you some of those books so that if you have read them, you can nag me until I finally do so.
My reasons will be similar for each book (really stupid anxiety, constant reading slumps, need to read easier, less taxing books etc) so I’m going to leave them out as I’d simply repeat myself.

These are just a small selection because there are many more books on my shelves that fit this scenario.

Have you any books that you intended to read this year but didn’t?
As always, thanks for reading and have a brazzle dazzle day!
xx
I’ve only read The Return of the King from your list, and I don’t know that I can recommend it at this point in time, depending on your mood. It starts out really dark (as you know if you’ve read the rest of the trilogy to this point). The good news is that it does end well for our heroes, but it takes a while to get there and if you’ve been fighting reading slumps, that might not be a helpful book to read.

I totally agree and I already know it’s not one I can read right now anyway as I won’t be able to concentrate on the language and writing style.

Yeah, it does need a little bit more focus than some other kinds of fiction.
