Hello!
It is time for another kind of TBR post, this one focused around series I need or would like to re-read at some point.
Now, I have to admit, I think I’m losing interest in series as a whole because I do give up on them when I have to wait for the next release, and I’m not in the habit of reading a series all in one go anymore, but there are some that are still deserving of my attention. There are also some I just love and want to re-read at some point, whenever that maybe.
I have a list of 6 series so let’s dive in and get on with it!
Red Rising by Pierce Brown

I think this series has been on previous incarnations of this list for a few years now. I initially read Red Rising and Golden Son back in 2016 or something like that (I can’t remember) and I told myself I would re-read them before picking up Morning Star. I never did! However, I purchased physical copies of these a few years ago with the intention of re-reading them as it is the type of sci-fi I can generally get into and enjoy. I will finally get round to them again, one day!
The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams

Speaking of sci-fi, this is the only other sci-fi book and series I can say I truly love with all my heart. It’s wacky, intelligent, and honestly the funniest thing I’ve ever read. Saying that I’ve only ever managed to get to book three before becoming confused with everything going on, and it has been a while since I last read it so it’s overdue a re-read really.
The Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini

I read this series for the first time back in 2012 when Inheritance was released. I’d never really heard of it before then but I was encouraged to read it (the two of you know who you are if you read this!) and I was surprised by how much I liked it, especially as it was the first chunky fantasy I’d read. However, I’ve not read it since and I’ve forgotten most of what happens. Oops. I do have a terrible memory when it comes to books though!
The Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien

I listened to the audio dramatisations of The Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers late last year as I thought it would be a good way of introducing myself to the series, but I just felt a bit lost with the storyline even though I did enjoy them, and I told myself I’d pick up the actual books in the new year. Well, I haven’t done that and I really want to because I feel like I can get into Tolkien’s writing now.
Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor

I always want to re-read this trilogy as it is one of my favourites, and I did start doing that this year, but after I read Daughter of Smoke and Bone I never picked up the sequels! I’m assuming my year-long on-and-off reading slump is the reason for that so I want to finish the re-read and remind myself why I love the series so much!
Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer

After meeting Eoin Colfer at YALC 2019, it has been a goal of mine to re-read this entire series. I did start doing so, I think pretty soon after YALC, but in similar fashion, I got part way through before stopping. I don’t know why I did, but I would like to pick the series back up again and hopefully finish it. It seems a long series with 8 books in total, but the books are so much shorter considering it is a MG/young YA series so it shouldn’t be a challenge to get through them all pretty quickly!
And that is it!

If you like re-reading books, what are some books or series you would like to re-read?
As always, thanks for reading and have a brazzle dazzle day!
xx
Right now, I really only need to re-read the InCryptid series by Seanan McGuire so that I can continue with the series. (Currently I have forgotten so much of what happened that it would be like starting in the middle.) I have at least re-read book one already, so I’ve gotten started.
Oh—though I want to re-read the Murderbot series as well. Because I love Murderbot and reading those books makes me happy.

I’ve never read any of those series although I think I’ve heard of Murderbot before.

Murderbot is a fun science fiction series (mostly novellas, though one full length novel). It’s won lots of awards lately, and is pretty popular, so I wouldn’t be surprised if you have heard of it.
