Hello! Today I’m back with another fun tag, this time playing Never Have I Ever… with books and exposing some of my reading/book secrets. I wasn’t tagged by anyone but I saw it up on @Soph’s Book World and really liked it.
The Rules:
- Link back to original creator: Madame Writer.
- Link back to the person who tagged you or the blog where you first saw this tag.
- Answer all prompts.
- Tag at least 5 people.
- Don’t lie.
- Have fun!
Questions
Never Have I Ever…read a later book in a series before reading the first book
Nope. If I get my hands on a book and I find out it is a later book in the series and it matters chronologically, I will wait to read it.
Never Have I Ever…burned a book
I might have accidentally damaged a book by ripping pages or spilling a drink over it but I’ve never burned one, accidentally or not.
Never Have I Ever…read a book I knew I would hate
Not when I’ve read a book for pleasure, no. I can’t say the same for books I’ve had to study for school or university though.
Never Have I Ever…wrote a fanfiction about my favorite books
No. I did used to write fanfiction but it was always connected to TV shows I loved rather than books.
Never Have I Ever…loved a book when I was young and hated it when I got older
I think this has only happened with Twilight. I loved it and the series as a teen but I reread it last year after reading Midnight Sun and I certainly don’t like it that much anymore.
Never Have I Ever…dressed up as one of my favorite literary characters
No, but it is not something I’d be unwilling to do in the future.
Never Have I Ever…hated a book by an author I love
I don’t know if I’d go so much as “hate” but I know when it comes to Tess Gerritsen, I’m not a huge fan of her newer standalone release The Shape of Night, and the Rizzoli and Isles instalment The Killing Place/Ice Cold.
Never Have I Ever…gone into a bookstore to buy one book and come out with many more
Oh of course I have. It happened a lot. It even happens when buying books online.
Never Have I Ever…read the end of a book before reading the beginning
I don’t try to but sometimes when I’m looking at page numbers or checking something at the back, I do end up reading a couple of ending lines.
Never Have I Ever…read a book without the dust cover
Oh I often do this with a hardback book. If it is a really nice dust jacket, I don’t want to damage it, and sometimes I find it more comfortable reading a hardback without the dust jacket on.
Never Have I Ever…skim read nearly half a book
I actually have. I used to do this with New Moon if I re-read the Twilight Saga. I never liked it as much as the others so if I didn’t skip it altogether, I always skimmed to the last few chapters.
And that’s all of them!
I’m going to break one of the rules by simply extending the tag to everyone rather than a select number of people!

Which of these have you never done?
Thanks for reading and have a brazzle dazzle day!
xx
Great post, such a fun idea! I also take off the dust jacket when I read a book purely because I don’t want to ruin it! 🙂
